Carlo Scarpa graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, here he devoted himself to university teaching, which he conitnued in various positions until 1977.
He established himself as a designer after World War II thanks to important installations:
In 1932 he began his collaboration with the historic Venini glassworks, and then became the artistic director until 1946.
This long period allowed him to leave an indelible mark in the world of the Furnace both for the design of models that have gone down in history and for the research of the most refined techniques that are still used today.
