It was the 1970s, the first installations were born, and art became increasingly conceptual and expressive; in this climate of change, the forms of the classical abandoned their patterns. The natural function of the vase changes: from many flowers, as it has always been, it now accommodates only one. The surface of the glass abandons its hardness: it looks soft, yet it is glass.
Balloton's workmanship is unique: the glass is blown and handcrafted in a metal mold to achieve a cross-relief effect, finally a heat-applied colored thread is added to the narrow neck.
The collection is restyled in 2016, but the effect does not change: the rigid glass looks soft.
