The Herend manufactory owes its fame to the particular beauty and uniqueness of its many hand-decorated services. The masters are always skilful in renewing the motifs of services consisting of thousands of pieces and based on centuries-old craft traditions and adapting them to the expectations of new customers.
This elegant decoration originated from a simplification of the 'Basket of Flowers from the Indies' decoration. The idea came from Count Albert Apponyi in the second half of the 19th century, enlarging an original detail. Of the decoration thus created, the central detail, consisting of a Chinese rose surrounded by scattered flowers and garlands, retains its proportions.
The decoration is available in various colours, with a pure gold or platinum finish. There is also a version with a blue decoration only, suitable for use in the dishwasher.
