Mepra is an important historical Italian brand: in 1901 the first family business was founded by the brothers Bortolo, Francesco and Giovanbattista. The factory, called Pradelli at the time, was already involved in metalworking and had the environment at heart: that is why it was located on the banks of the Gobbia river, in order to harness the kinetic energy of water to drive the heavy machinery of the production department.
The years passed and the war arrived: it was during the Second World War that the Pradelli company began producing bullets for the Italian army, but at the end of the war the factory changed production and entered the world of cutlery design and cooking implements. Around 1947, the Pradelli brothers changed the company name and founded Mepra (an acronym for Metallurgia Pradelli).
