Description

Geacolor, 1995

Designer Gae Aulenti.

Seemingly random silhouettes, irregular protrusions and surfaces to explore with the eyes and fingertips. Created by applying colours hot and freehand, a technique that guides the shades, helping them settle and take shape.

Gae Aulenti's vase is a thousand different vases: it changes with the light, the angle and the eyes of the beholder.

Made in Murano, Italy

Gae Aulenti collaborates with Venini

Gae Aulenti graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Milan Polytechnic in 1954; immediately afterwards she worked on the editorial staff of Casabella for 10 years, 1955-1965. For the rest of the 1960s, the designer worked at the university on Giuseppe Samonà's Architectural Composition courses in Venice and then in Milan with Ernesto N. Rogers.

Her projects, published in Italy and abroad, include architecture, interior and industrial design, extending to exhibition design and theatre sets. Among her best-known architectural works are the renovations of the Musée d'Orsay in Paris and Palazzo Grassi in Venice.

Her collaboration with Venini began in 1993
